I have only had the boat for a few months (500 miles on it so far) and mainly fish offshore. Our offshore runs are usually 30-60 miles one way. So far the boat has little in the way of fish to it's credit but we are working on that. Reports will hopefully have something worth reading before the summer is over.
Largest fish to date is a 41" red drum from the Galveston jetties.. ![]() |

That thing looks like a fighter !
Congrats on the new ride, hope you spill a lot of blood on her this season. Its been pretty bumpy here and the albie's are still 100 miles off shore. Only the foolish have braved it so far but they were rewarded with limits of nice tuna. Welcome to the board -JIM |

Little blackfins are pretty plentiful, yellowtails starting this time of year and there are a few big bluefins caught by accident from time to time. Always takes an 80-100 mile run to get into tuna country. I've never had a boat that could get there until now. One reason I went for the diesel panga (400+ mile range)..

7/1/05, 40 mile run out from the jetties at port oconner (tx) in a 4 ft swell topped with a 2-3 short wind blown chop was an interesting ride. Swell developed from a depression in the gulf, chop from a 20mph wind. Couldn't run more than about 18mph or we where airbourne. Got to a good rig and did not get a single bite. Went back after fighting the waves and fished the bay and got a few little reds and one black drum. Enjoyed watching a pod of dolphins playing in the current about 20ft from the boat. Fun boat ride but the fishing was terrible... Arlon.

Hi Arlon sorry to hear about the rough conditions but atleast you made the best of it and caught a few fish and played with the Dolphins.
Thanks for the report! |

I work with a guy who came from Florida. He's always telling me about the drum's, bonefish and everything else he catches there. Some day I'll have to try it for myself. The Panga looks great. Just a outright fish killing machine.
