Default Wide open sandbass and Calico in El Segundo 6/20

On Monday we needed to do some diving survey work but before and after the dive we threw plastics and chrome lures and the fish were on the chew!

There was bait boils all over the place and you can see schools of bass chasing bait fish and free swimming all around the boat.

We caught and released about 15 or so fish during the short time we had to fish with all being legal size and the biggest was about 3lbs.

Default Good job Roger!

Nice report Roger! Good to hear that you got to hit up the sand bass. Looks like they're getting some WSB by the fish counts. I wonder where the location is? I'm thinking of giving it a shot on Friday.

The WSB have been holding in the kelp line. Yak'ers have been picking off a few in local waters, but most are coming from the channel islands.

Hi Ming they have been getting the WSB in the north side of SMB and some are being caught under the bait boils with the Barracuda so when you slide up on a bait ball with feeding cuda try use a heay jig to get past the Barries and see if there is any WSB under them.

Good Luck on Friday!
