Default 9/27 Lobster opener midnight

We had a full boat with Frank,Chris,MikeLB,and Cavman Jim on board.

Met up at the dock at 11pm and sat around chatting and getting the gear ready for the shotgun start at midnight.

We saw about a dozen or so boats and kayaks on the outside of the breakwall,3 boats and numorous kayaks on the inside and PV was lit up like a chrismas tree.

The wind and swells were fairly calm so it was a nice night to be on the water.

The bugs were on the crawl and we ended up with limits for all on the boat 35 lobster with the biggest around 3 1/2 lbs so nothing real big.

Fish and Game was in the parking lot checking to make sure everyone had there licences and lobster report cards filled out. The 2 officers were nice and quick and moved on to check more people as they came in.

Every year Dive and Surf in Redondo always has the Lobster Mobster contest and as always after we are done diving we show them a legal lobster and get free t-shirt,coffee and donuts.

The shirts this year were the nicest shirts I have seen.

We got there at about 1:30am and hung around for a hour and a half chatting and watching all the lobster coming in for weigh in.

At 2:45am just before I was ready to leave a huge lobster came in at over 12lbs.....It was huge and I heard after I left one person brought in 2 10lbers, a 8lber and 4 more to make a nice heavy limit so he had a great night.

The season is off to a good start and I took my lobsters to my moms and had a great lobster bbq with the family.

WTG Roger!!! I hope a poor fishing season equates to a banner lobster season.
