Default 5/12 First WSB at Cat.

Hit the Island with DNess (Dave) and his friends Jim and John who was fishing H&L. But not before puking my guts out at the dock (what's up with that?.. My new lucky charm, me thinks). I was in the water less than an hour when a school of 25+ WSB go right underneath me. I shot down and missed (shit shit shit shit shit)... I found them again ten minuets later. Not wanting to miss another surface shot I dropped down around a kelp stock 10' down in 20' of water and took the shot at a big one in the back of the pack. STONED! Pretty freak'en happy I swam back to the boat meeting Dave half way there attempting a gunnel crunch. Dave and Jim promptly return to the area to look for the school and 30 minuets later Jim had shot a fish and was tied up in the kelp. He was able to land the fish safely with out too much trouble and we had our second WSB on board. I think he said that it was one of only two fish swimming together at 15'. Viz was great, 25'+, water was a toasty 61 degrees, good current and no swell to speak of and that was it for the day. Jim's fish went 23lbs but mine maxed out the boat's 30lb scale. I was hoping my first WSB went 40lbs but when we hit the fuel doc, bled, she went 33lbs on a certified scale. Still a great fish for me. It's my PB even for H&L. I want to give Dave Ness a big thank you for putting me on the fish and for the great trip.

Me thinks it's finally time for a new avatar. 2" fillets anyone?
