Nice fish dan! Wait until summer when they start to spawn on the flats. It will be wide open for about a month and a half. They spawn in the mid water column and will hit almost anything thrown at them. That spot your are talking about "fish haven" sounds like Izors reef, it's about 2-3 miles South out of Huntington Harbour. My favorite way to cook Sand Bass and Calico Bass is to filet each side and season the filet with salt and pepper or any seafood seasoning. Dip the filet in eggwash( 2-3 raw egg's mixed up with a fork) and then dredge them in Panko bread crumbs (avail at any grocery store in the Asian section. Fry them in a pan half filled with hot oil for 3-4 min. They make Excellent fish taco's.

Hey Dan so did you like the fish or did you not cook it yet?

There is nothing better then fresh fish you caught yourself.
