Default fishing cat w/ roger and gene 11/2/04

took off about 1:30 monday, hit the harbor to troll for some bentio. caught one, and one mack, headed out to the shark grounds, went thru 2 buckets of chum,, nada. was getting late so we headed to cat, and started to do some hoop'n, caught 2 non-legals, tossed them back, no legals, set up our gear for morning, hit the sack about midnight, started fishing for yellows early,, zip, nada, so we started fishing for butts, zip, nada, headed out to catch some rockfish, caught about 6 and 1 calico, released the bass, we did come up on a moola that was just kicking it.. i had a great time

i had to get a pic of myself at cat, it's been over 40 years since i've been there fishing

pic of the moola, i read that the bigest one caught was 11 ft. from fin tip to fin tip and weighted over 3,000 lbs.

pic of gene with horn shark, they always seem to be in our nets when hoop'n

Hey Gabe even though we did not catch much the weather was warm and calm so it was still a relaxing trip and very enjoyable with good company.

Right on Gabe thanks for the report and pics.
How were the water conditions going over and where did yall anchor up for the night?
Those molas are pretty cool you can pull the boat right up to those guys without them even moving. They just open one eye look at you like WHAT can't you see I'm catching some rays

The channel crossing that day was xint and it doesn't get much better with near flat calm seas.

Here is more pics from the trip!
